Five Subjects Students Shouldn’t Miss To Study

Some lessons remain with us throughout life; they make the core of us and our personality. They teach us the fundamentals of life, the basics of who we are, and how we change and grow. These lessons start right from the first day of school, and we feel there are certain subjects available to study which should become mandatory for every student to read. They help not just the students in school but even after they have graduated and for their entire lives. What are those subjects? Let’s get to know more about them in this blog.

  1. English Literature: English is one of the most spoken languages worldwide, with it being an official language of more than 60 countries. Students must know the basics of grammar, pronunciations, and vocabulary. Once they know the basics, they have a world of stories available to them. English literature is a subject that offers stories full of wisdom, knowledge, and entertainment, and not only that, poems, plays, sonnets, and a lot of content are there to consume. One must invest in self-development and self-improvement, and for that to happen, one must read.

He has to understand the perspectives of others, and he has to understand the poetic feel of being lost in a story or a drama. There’s something for everyone, from Gothic horror to cute romance and even pilgrimage stories. English literature takes you to another world and is of the most use professionally as well. Thus, students must not miss this subject.

  1. Hindi: The reason why Hindi is in this list is because it is our mother tongue, and we must know how to read and write in Hindi. Most people take pride in knowing German, French, and other languages but are ashamed to speak in Hindi; this should not happen. It is our language; if we won’t promote it, then who will? It is compulsory to have Hindi as a subject until 8th class in K.R. Mangalam World School, but we put an emphasis on the students voluntarily pursuing the subject forward in higher classes, even if they don’t at least try to not forget their roots and continue practising Hindi in their personal lives.

Remember, being fluent in English but not knowing your own mother tongue doesn’t make you cool.

  1. Moral Science: This is a subject which is one of our favourites. Moral science teaches students about how to behave morally and the difference between the good and the bad. It is a must-read subject even for the adults, as the lessons it teaches are helpful forever. The subject not only teaches about how to be a good person and respect others but also teaches how to respect ourselves, how to take care of ourselves, our mind, our body, our surroundings and then our family and friends.

The subject of moral science is enough to make you a better person. There are some lessons on the environment and how to take care of plants and animals, and then certain lessons teach you about road safety and how to protect yourself from daily hazards. This is a must-have subject.

  1. Maths: Calculations are something which students are going to use for life. Math comes in use in everyday scenarios and work, be it in school, home, or professional life. From basic counting to mathematical functions and algebra, maths is required. Plus, the subject itself is very useful to help students with critical and analytical thinking. Math helps in the cognitive development of the brain, which makes the students smarter. The reason to study this subject is because of the value it offers; most of today’s generation are dependent on gadgets for the calculations – calculators, smartphones, and computers – and this dependence is making them dumb.

Math is something which gets better by practising, and students can practise it daily for 15 to 30 mins to keep their logical reasonings valid and brain functions good.

  1. Science: Another subject that helps to increase your logical reasoning and brainpower by questioning everything, from how sound travels to how a prism of light functions, science is a subject of explorers, those who are curious about the world and the universe and how everything functions. From the human body to the rotation of the planets in our galaxy, science has an answer for everything. It’s a must for students to show interest in the subject, as this subject increases questioning abilities, which ultimately results in creativity, and that is how, eventually, when these students grow up, their creativity changes into something innovative.

Take the example of any scientist; they kept on questioning and experimenting, and eventually innovation happened. Revolutionary products got invented like this. And, to invent something revolutionary, an interest in the subject of science is all you need.
